Formula SAE is a collegiate engineering design competition organized by SAE International. Students are challenged to design, build, and test small formula-style race cars to compete in different events.
The FSAE Sim App, developed by TotalSim US, gives students designing Formula SAE cars the ability to easily perform Aerodynamic analysis on their designs using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations in a "Virtual Wind Tunnel". Users of the App are be able to upload geometry, configure and run their CFD simulation, then view and download their results. The App makes CFD simulation simple by automatically meshing the geometry, configuring the solver settings, and organizing the results allowing the students to focus on designing and improving their cars, rather than setting up complex CFD simulations. FSAE Sim App provides a suite of post-processing results to aid in the analysis of performance and identification of trends.
